I'm not a fan of Andrew but I felt bad for the guy last night. He got the worst position possible (2nd) and was right after Christal, the best singer. This week was already likely to be his last and Ryan asks him about how amazing of a singer Michael is! Being told that he's boring by his "mentor" and being told he "sucks the life" out of everything week after has got to be taking its toll. It's obvious everyone is eager to show him the door and it's like they want him to know that he's over stayed his welcome.
I didn't vote for him but if he survives this week I'll be happy just because I hate how this show always beats contestants down until they don't even try. It's unfortunate that's how the show seems to operate.

Thank you. It makes me sad too that the judges do that to contestants. I mean it would be nice if they gave him some support. I know if I were in his shoes it would be hard to want to continue after hearing what everyone has to say week after week.

i CANNOT believe how disrespectfully andrew garcia was treated by the judges. it was just AWFUL.
i used to kind of like kara, but i know now, if a guy isn't eye candy, she has no use for him. paula was never ever that condescending with a contestant. shame on all of the judges other than ellen, who was kind to andrew. the way he was treated borders on racism. there i said it. idol is going down hill very, very fast and i can see why. show some respect, kara, and randy. simon can be rude to everyone at times.

You thought they were being racist?? Wow, I didn't get that at all. Just from singing alone he lasted longer than I thought he would. What he did to Hound Dog was just bad and not in a good way.

They treated Andrew horribly. He has a good voice, shouldn't have gone home before Tim thats for sure. The judges gushing over Tim is ridiculous. Andrew is a very nice person with a good voice, very unique, he will do fine. The fix is in they want Bowersox!!

As for the being mean............its the music industry. Its not a nice place. If you need someone to hold your hand and be nice, I suggest you avoid the real world and especially the entertainment world!
The truth is Andrew was not good, and the judges told him. The public seems to loveto see Simon tear people apart. Andrew and everyone else coming onto the show knows that. Andrew got his 15 minutes of fame. He also gets to Tour America with the idols tour. Don't you think the chance to do a musical tour is a dream come true for him? I would imagine so, so don't feel to bad for him just because he left.

Until quite recently, Tim Urban has been dragged through the mud. Even Ryan got in on the "fun" this week. Would you say that Tim has been treated in a racist fashion?
This racist nonsense nauseates me. There has never been any evidence that any of the judges are racist. Quite the opposite, in fact.
As far as the mentoring is concerned, Adam didn't say that Andrew is boring. He said that the arrangement Andrew chose and his performance were boring. We only saw a tiny bit of the session. I'm sure that Adam said this in the context of Andrew being capable of a better performance. Many good teachers express themselves that way. It's often very constructive. It's not as if Adam said, "You stink."
The only thing that bothered me about Andrew's elimination was that they went back to the shock tactic of skipping the expected Bottom 3 variation. That must have been unnecessarily jarring to Andrew, who couldn't have known that it would be like ripping a Band-Aid off, except with someone else besides you in control. They haven't pulled that in a long time (as far as I can recall). There was a Top 24 contestant in Season 4 named Judd Harris who was eliminated in a similar way...even worse, in fact. He was positioned behind Ryan, who wheeled around to face Judd out of the blue and told him he was out.

I feel bad for Andrew. I thought he was the only contestant this season that was treated terribly. I mean come on... the judges doesn't even give Andrew criticism. All they do is tell him how he was all over the place, pitchy, and how bad he was. Pretty unfair.
Also, when Adam made the comment about Andrew being boring... I was very upset with that. I felt really bad for Andrew at that point.
Don't worry Andrew.. we still love you no matter what!

I love Andrew, he has a very unique style and is truly a class act. The judges were tougher on him than anyone of the other contestants, maybe they just expected more from him. I'm looking forward to seeing where he goes from here, I think he will surprise everyone.

How can you say (Sictastic) that Andrew was they only one treated unfairly,
Look what they did to Tim , they put him on a scaled performance review and now judge him against himself and look how they have treated Siobhan, they have ripped into her like a monkey on a cup cake
The only ones that have been safe are Crystal, Lee and Casey
