Okay, this newbie has another question: I've noticed that this AI website is slowing removing peformance videos and I am not a happy camper about it! I went to check out one of my favorites - PP's "Superstition" and it is GONE. So is "In the Air Tonight"!!! Please tell me there is a place, other than Youtube, that I can find these? (Since I already checked the Tube and there are no good quality versions of "Superstition" and none including the judges commentary!!) I've also looked on Amazon and it doesn't look as thought they put out a DVD boxed set of any of the seasons at all???? Also, is there any way to download the videos that are still left on the site??
Thank you!!

Copyright violations are being removed, including a lot of fan videos.
Idol has an official YouTube channel now. Have you checked there? YouTube.com/AmericanIdol.

Thank you - yes, I had checked the AI Youtube site and it is only displaying videos up through the Top 11 now. And, the videos I had been watching seemed like they were official ones put out by the AI website, which shouldn't include any copyright violations, should they?
In fact I'm a "liker" on the AI Facebook page, and they did post at one point something about it being the last chance to watch "In the Air Tonight"....and then another update a week or two later about it being our last chance to watch "Superstition". At the time, I checked the AI site and the videos were still there, so I didn't think much of it - I didn't think they'd actually remove them for good! It seems as though they are, one by one, removing them. Maybe to make way for the new season?
But, there must be another way to view them? DVD format, download, something.......I hope????.......![]()

Elbie42, you're not the only one who wishes that AI had thought of making DVDs of each season. I think they would fly out, especially this season. I blush to admit that I didn't start watching until about half-way through, after channel-surfing and accidently catching Phillip blowing the crowd away. He was so much more compelling to watch than anyone else on AI for me [no offence to any of the other performers]. I watched the show to see Phillip perform again, thinking that he couldn't continue the magic...............................but he did and does continue to facinate.
So, considering that the entire series of seasons is preserved somewhere by the producers of AI, they might think about marketing some or all of them as DVDs.
Just a thought.

I didn't find out about Phillip until the very end, just before the finale. Right after the finale I checked all around the internet for a DVD of the season and learned that there isn't one. It really bums me out that they have started taking the videos down.

Let me ask and see if I can find out anything.
