Elise: Get the impression you love the soul songs, and me too, for me, for you... (Like that? Put a little RJack into it). But in the shortened format with one or two shots to impress voters, you need to come out rockin' again for at least one song a night.
Phil: You are who you are, but maybe try something a little out of the box. Maybe a simple little ballad, accompanied just by your guitar. Even Dave Matthews sings some soft ones. The ladies love it.
Skylar: You have some momentum, you're gold on stage, you've shown you can do the siren song. Now maybe stray once in a while from the straight country like you did at first, and give us a little classic southern rock or honky tonk blues, for those who aren't sold on classic country or country pop.
Joshua: Now that you're doing 2 a night, definitely make sure that one has a more modern feel like your Bruno Mars effort. But this time, maybe change up an arrangement so it's a surpise--unexpected and modern cool.
Jessica: Know you're trying to avoid the diva trap, and good for you, but don't lose the pretty part of your voice either. Find a song that features that beautiful melodic sound so captivating at the beginning of your run, even if it is uptempo.
Hollie: You're moving in the right direction, but stop thinking about this as a contest. Start thinking about how you want to be seen on stage in your own right and give us a defined style once in a while rather than focusing so much on impressive notes, or checking the boxes on last week's comment card.
