BULLYING 101 : Charlie Askew

This is appalling.

Congratulations to the panel. You've just successfully BULLIED and 18 year old boy. Based on his response, he's probably gotten that his whole life. Nicki bullied nothing but his look. She had no real comments to say about the song, but about him, and how he portrays himself. For years, they've been saying "be true to yourself" and when he stepped out of his shell (Pun about awkward turtle), they ripped him apart.

If you don't understand the genre of music, you shouldn't have a comment. He opened up and will be an asset to to the top 10!!

I'd vote for him, but I would hate to subject him to more bullying.

While I have to admit that I personally don't understand his genre of music, nor do I enjoy whatever genre it may be, I have to say that Charlie looked so vulnerable tonight it frightens me on what his mental state is after the show.

Bullying aside, I don't think he can handle the pressure that comes with being on the show.

My guess would be that the OP hasn't watched this show all that long or he/she would know that that was "mild" compared to some of the stuff that has been said on this show...

That was a perfectly honest critique. It wasn't done in any way I'd consider "bullying". They were spot on too. The entire persona he put on for that performance was completely disingenuous. That wasn't real. It was a little boy putting on an act that seemed so completely out of his character that it was uncomfortable to watch.

No one that's so emotionally fragile they can't handle criticism, should go on a show like this. Simon would have ripped him to shreds.

That was a weekly thing for Haley Rhinehart lol and she took it like a pro. He is not stable and I am worried about him. Bless his heart I hope they are comforting him tonight. The worst thing anyone can do is vote him through at this point though. He needs to step back from the light for a min.

I agree wietz, Simon would've torn this kid to pieces, unfortunately.

I agree with you, and I think it is wrong to call things bullying because some don't agree with the critique of the performance.  It mitigates the horror what kids who are really bullied go through.
