I like the singer-songwriters. If they play an instrument, write music, and of course move me, they'll probably have my vote, regardless of gender, race, or instrument preference IDC #1

I'm happy about it, everyone knows that.
And I get that it's nothing against these girls, Ivy, but it is certainly something against the guys. With so many out there saying they were deliberately picked because they couldn't compete is paramount to saying they aren't any good. I personally don't believe it was deliberate OR that they aren't any good, and I know that it must make them and their fans feel pretty crappy.

I'm happy with these 5. I would not have been disappointed if one or more guys made the top 5 had they performed at the level of these ladies. I don't think that the guys this season were untalented or inferior to most of the ladies going into voting rounds. I think that a lot of them made poor choices of song and styling. Whether they were pushed into bad choices, or had few options, I don't know. It's certainly reasonable to think so based on what I've heard from contestants in post-elimination interviews.

I am disappointed in this top 5, because I don't find any of these women particularly interesting, like I found several women in past seasons (Haley, Crystal, Elise to name a few). Sometimes I feel I'm watching a beauty pageant when they sing - nice and safe, nobody taking any risks, nothing edgy. I would like to see an acoustic or a cappella round without backup singers, to really evaluate these women for singing ability.

I'm thrilled for Kree and Candice. The other three I can take or leave at this point. I would have been happy if at least one guy made it to top 5, maybe Devin. The other four guys, not so much.

Happy that the 5 most deserving of the season made the top 5. That is always a good thing.
Disappointed that it does feel contrived. It was clear from the beginning that the girls outshone the guys from the very beginning. Even if this wasn't the producers' plan, at the very least it is a huge error in casting. There should never be a top five of 1 gender if they were doing their job right.
