You hit the nail on the head, MPgunn. Idol has lost the business perspective, which was its whole premise. Artists as judges are strictly for "Woo-hoo, look who's there" value only. The show needs someone who can tell which singers will sell records, not 2 out of 3 judges who empathize with the contestants from the point of view of someone who's "been there". And for that, there's only one man for the job, Mr. Simon Philip Cowell.
